FLOTUS Michelle Obama urges everyone to see Jackie Robinson’s biopic 42. Chadwick Boseman, Nicole Beharie, and the rest of their movie cast have major celebrating to do after Michelle Obama praised 42 during a White House screening.
On Tuesday (Apr. 2), Mrs. Obama introduced Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford and Jackie Robinson’s widow Rachel Robinson to a room of college undergraduate and high school students. The movie that accounts Robinson’s journey into the then segregated Major League Baseball left the First Lady and President Obama “visibly, physically moved.” Mo told the room, “How on earth did [the Robinsons] live through that. How did they do it? How did they endure the taunts and the bigotry for all of that time?”
The students screened the movie then asked questions to the cast, including screenwriter Brian Helgeland.
The film opens in theaters on April 12.
