It sounds like the Queen Bee is buzzing about new music for the summer.
In an interview with WetPaint, the “Jumpoff” rapper is ready to land back in the studio. Her highly anticipated not-yet-titled album is executive produced by famed beatmaker Bangladesh.
On the topic of ‘90s female rappers making a comeback, the “Ms. G.O.A.T.” spitter shared her thoughts on leading the movement again. “I think it’s important because we [female rappers] were — and are — a major part of hip-hop,” Kim said. “When we were coming up in the game, the music we made was such a major change; it was important to music at the time. [Now] the synergy is lined up! The game has been so male-dominated for so long. With all the women coming back now, this is a way where we get kind of even.”
Lil’ Kim also spoke on her burgeoning artist Tiffany Foxx saying, “That’s my baby! She’s so fun, she’s so creative, and she’s such a star – I love her. I really just want her to win.”
The month of June may not host the sealed date of Kim’s new album, but she stated that “a lot of gifts” would be unwrapped by fans with the first single dropping “out in late June/first week of July.”
