Nicola Formichetti, who is most popularly known as Lady Gaga’s stylist, has stepped down from his position as Creative Director at Thierry Mugler.
According to Billboard, Formichetti and the French fashion house Thierry Mugler “mutually agreed” to part ways. Their two-year partnership was a successful one–Formichetti has been instrumental in changing the brand’s creative vision, and even left his mark by changing the name to MUGLER.
“It was a challenge to re-invigorate the house for a new generation and audience, particularly one that has grown up exploring fashion through the Internet,” explained Formichetti.
Formichetti served as the link between the French brand and Lady Gaga. It was her songs that worked as the musical accompaniment for his first two runway shows. This split does not seem to have an effect on his relationship with Lady Gaga.
