Emeli Sandé may be new to the game, but she’s breaking records that haven’t been broken in ages. Recently the British artist topped the record for having the most consecutive weeks spent in the top ten U.K.’s Official Album Chart.
The singer’s February 2012 debut album Our Version of Events was on the chart for 63 weeks, breaking The Beatles’ Please Please Me album record of 62-consecutive-weeks in 1963-1964.
“The Beatles are the greatest band of all time and their legacy lives on and continues to inspire all of us that make music,” the singer-songwriter told the Official Charts Company as she describes being at a loss for words upon finding out.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone that has brought, played or shared my music in the last year, without your support this would never have been possible,” she said.
