Perhaps one of the most real stories in the history of reality TV was the Real World: San Francisco. The series aired in 1994, when the AIDS epidemic was more and more often being discussed as a serious social problem. Cast member Pedro ZamoraZamora used the TV show as a platform to share with viewers his heartfelt story as he dealt with the disease as an openly gay man. Zamora passed only months after the airing of the show.
