Ut oh, Sephora has a new competitor. Net-a-porter, the world’s premier online fashion destination, is planning to add a new category to its arsenal at the end of the month. According to WWD, the site will offer a mixture of products including 3Lab, Beauty Works West, Métier de Beauté, and Philip B starting at $35.
Previously the fashion site expanded in to men’s wear and the off-price market, but this new leg will add a new type of customer—the beauty obsessed. The beauty items will be under the “The Quintessential Edit” section. But don’t try to return a used product. Unlike Sephora, Net-a-Porter packages must be unopened and unused in order to exchange or return them. Bummer.
