Beyoncé is making women’s health, education and justice a top priority for her busy year. On June 1, Mrs. Carter will serve as Artistic Director and headline GUCCI’s “Chime for Change” charity concert. Salma Hayek, who founded the organization–a global campaign for girls and women empowerment–made the big announcement Monday (Mar. 26), listing John Legend, Ellie Goulding, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora and Timbaland as additional acts.
“Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible,” said Beyonce in a statement. “I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage.”
Live Aid promoter Harvey Goldsmith and fashion firm Gucci are backing the event in an effort to make sure proceeds benefit multiple charities. Tickets are available today.
