The Cut caught up with the Numéro Russia editor-at-large to chat about his new 208 page book that gives credence to the LBD.
Appropriately titled Little Black Dress, the book is an assortment of black dresses, including a photo of Marc Jacobs wearing a man dress by Comme des Garçons. “I would not wear a dress,” says Tally. “I envy him (Marc Jacobs) for being able to have that body and own that look, but not me. But I do love black clothes — black conveys elegance. Black just conveys a kind of drama, even if it can be quiet drama.”
But the coffee table book is more than 80 full-page images, there are personal essays on LBDs by Robin Givhan, and a forward by Paula Wallace, the president and co-founder of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Before the book launches next month, catch the full interview at The Cut and turn the page for images.
