Beyoncé stans have a million questions for the megastar. We already know she can sing, dance, act and create documentaries. The one question that still remains (but has been answered before): How in the world did she get that name?
According to New York Post, Mrs. Carter’s maternal uncle Roland Beyince graced the red carpet premiere for Life Is But A Dream and revealed “Beyonce” is derived from his surname.
“My sister Tina [Knowles] didn’t think we had enough boys in the family to keep the [Beyince] name going, so she gave Beyonce our last name as the first name,” he said.
And there you have it, Vixens!
