Kimora Lee Simmons may seem conceited to some, but she’s got reason to be. Supermodel looks, sometimes single mother and fledgling business woman? Yes, Kimora’s got the goods. In a recent interview with The Grio, the model-turned-mogul claims that celebs such as Beyoncé have her and ex-hubby Russell to thank for their fashion success.
“Before us there wasn’t any Beyoncé, there wasn’t Sean John or Justin Timberlake, there wasn’t Jessica Simpson. There wasn’t any of that,” Kimora said. “We really laid the blueprint for that. One thing I love about myself in this business is that I don’t have to rely on the sales of an album, or my movie being a hit for my clothing to be a hit.”
Granted, Russell and Kimora made millions off their Phat Farm and Baby Phat franchises, but do you think she’s reaching?
Fans of the outspoken Vixen will witness her return to The Style Network for Kimora: House of Fab, a docu-series that will follow Simmons as she runs JustFab, a popular site selling trendy accessories.
