2. Honor Dr. King’s heritage.
MLK was a native son of Georgia, so whip up some southern comfort food. Put together a gospel playlist and today a good ol’ family affair.
3. Watch a Civil Rights documentary.
If you have cable, multiple channels will feature documentaries and special on MLK and the movement he started. At 8:30 p.m., PBS will air Roads to Memphis, a James Earl Jones-narrated special on the events that led to King’s assassination in 1968.
