If you’re sad about being single during the holidays, acknowledge it and accept it. Don’t drown your sorrows with alcohol, food or overspending. Wallowing in self pity will also keep your friends and family at bay and no one likes a negative Nancy.
Understand you may not be able to change the picture, but you can change the frame. Stop the self-talk of “I’m single and I hate my life” to “I’m single and I rock!” It sounds cheesy, but positive affirmations really work, and if you start saying them often enough, you’ll believe them.
