In honor of her late grandmother, Rihanna has donated 1.75 million to a hospital in Barbados, according to the Associated Press.
During a Saturday ceremony, the Unapologetic singer said her generosity is her way of giving back to Barbados.
“I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados,” said the 24-year-old pop star. “This was all done in effort to save lives or at least extend it and I thank you all for being a part of it.”
Specifically, the money will purchase three pieces of medical equipment. Named after RiRi’s Gran-Gran Dolly, who passed away in June, the hospital’s radiotherapy unit is now the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine.
