Today, our favorite diva and president of HBO programming Michael Lombardo announced via Facebook that they’ll be partnering for a documentary on the singer’s life. Set to air on February 16 (shortly after her Superbowl performance), ”the film is a fusion of video that provides raw, unprecedented access to the private entertainment icon and high-voltage performances.”
We’ve had the chance to learn more about Bey through various television and DVD specials. However, this may be the most personal yet, with some footage shot on her laptop as she reflects on various aspects of her life and the entertainment industry.
“HBO has a history of pushing every boundary with class and authenticity,” said Beyoncé. “Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming. This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home.”–Nicole Brown
