First the Super Bowl, now Broadway? It looks like Beyoncé is conquering all areas of entertainment as the “Broadway Sings” production prepares to bring the R&B singer to “The Great White Way” by celebrating her music through a set of performances on Dec.3, 2012.
Taking place at the Le Poisson Rouge theatre in New York City, a list of over 15 songs will be “uniquely arranged,” spanning Bey’s four albums plus a few Destiny’s Child hits. This is the third installment from the series that paid homage to Michael Jackson and Adele previously.
Broadway heavyweights associated with the project (it’s only right) are producer Corey Mach, actor in the award winning plays “Wicked” and “Godspell,” and orchestrator Stephen Kartes who are looking to bring some soul to their stomping grounds. Tickets are priced at $20 for standing room, $25 for seating and $12 with a student ID.
No word on whether the honoree will grace the theatre but any occasion to hear Beyonce’s hits performed live is an opportune one. You can purchase tickets online at lepoissonrouge.com
