Natina Reed, 32, of late-90s girl group Blaque died early this morning after a hit-and-run car accident.
Reed–once mentored by the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes–would have been celebrating a birthday tomorrow (Oct. 28)–was reportedly walking across a street in Atlanta, Georgia when struck.
Fellow Blaque members Shamari (Fears) DeVoe and Brandi Williams took to Twitter to confirm news of Reed’s passing. ”Last night the world was changed forever, life will never be the same….she was my sister.,” Williams posted while DeVoe expressed similar sentiments: “My world as I know it has forever changed. Until we meet again, may you find comfort in the arms of an angel. I love you Natina.”
Other celebrity figures have taken to Twitter to express their condolences, including actress Gabrielle Union who played alongside Reed in Bring It On.
She is survived by 10-year-old son Tren Brown and his father, rapper Kurupt.
