The difference between the two is right there in the name. A mother is an adult — a grownup with responsibilities and the respect that comes with them. A mother has experience, knowledge, prestige … but also crows’ feet, sagging skin, and a body that carries the baggage of life.
Babies are adorable! They’re cooed over, fussed about, and tucked in at night. There’s always someone there to make sure they’re OK and their lives are relatively stress-free. But a baby is also an infant — someone who can’t do for themselves. A baby needs a hand constantly held and a nose constantly wiped and whose whining eventually annoys everyone in the room.
