For Timo Weiland’s Spring/Summer 2013 Presentation, inspired by The Brooklyn Art Museum’s exhibit on renowned artist Keith Haring, Joseph DiMaggio created a look synonymous with the essence of the new collection with a modern take on cornrows and crimped hair. Considering how much 80’s and 90’s hair styles have been reappearing on the streets on New York, including the beautiful Solange Knowles, the bohemian-esque was a perfect spin on a street style inspired collection. Here’s how you can create this chic funky fresh look:
- In order to create your look you’ll first need to straighten your hair using a flat iron and L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Reinforcing Milk or your choice of heat protective spray to smooth your hair.
- Section of a small portion of your hair at the top while using elastic bands to secure a high ponytail. Using the section of hair you set aside in the front, section off a small portion or two to create a messy flat twist while sleekly crisscrossing (think French braid) the rest of the hair back into the ponytail. (Feel free to add in additional hair pieces for volume and/or a longer look)
- The final step is to then crimp your ponytail for texture and volume. For different take on the look try using a double barrel crimper for waves. Finish off the look with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium 3 for a long lasting style.
