Rihanna‘s father wouldn’t mind his starlet daughter reuniting with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, even after the 2009 domestic violence incident.
According to NY Daily News, Ronald Fenty explained to Britain Grazia magazine that the now bad boy of R&B has changed.
“Chris has matured a lot,” he told the publication. “I think everybody has to put the past behind them. And they seem to have done that. Being a couple is all up to her.”
Earlier this year, the two singers joined forces for two remixes (“Turn Up The Music” and “Birthday Cake”), a surprising act that Rihanna says was strictly for the fans.
“We did two records – one for my fans, one for his fans,” she explained during an radio interview with Ryan Seacrest. “That way our fans can come together. There shouldn’t be a divide.”
But can they just be platonic friends and collab buddies?
Since the Chris Brown-Drake-Meek Mill debacle at W.i.P nightclub, it looks as if emotions still simmer between the spicy pop stars. Even with Rihanna’s Gran Gran Dolly’s passing last week, Brown sought to comfort RiRi (which he did via Twitter), showing that the two remain extremely close to each other and one another’s families as well.
Ronald tells Grazia: “Everyone is entitled to make a mistake,” he told Grazia. “Her fans are hoping it will happen. They see them as a perfect couple.”
However, in Rihanna’s latest interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she alludes to the pain of her past love affair with Breezy: “When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love,” she says. “The way it made me feel was priceless. And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”
What do you think, Vixens? Should Rihanna and Chris Brown ever date again?
