While the Miami Heat continues to revel in their post-championship celebration, one woman with former ties to a team member is far from winning.
Chris Bosh’s baby mama Allison Mathis has been living the struggle life since their separation. In an interview with Gossip Extra, the ex-basketball wife reveals that she not only had to apply for food stamps, but also that her house is getting foreclosed and the $2,600 a month Bosh pays her out of his $18M salary is barely cutting it.
Regardless, she chatted up about their relationship and why matrimony never came to fruition.
“We talked about it; we actually got fitted for rings and everything. We talked about the different designs and everything so it was definitely in the plans,” Mathis said. “He, of course, told my mother and assured my mother, because my mother was very kind of against us having a baby before marriage. But he assured her; he told his mother and father, so a lot of my family and I were aware that it was going to happen and it just did not.”
Mathis said the road from Splitsville was a hard one. “Day-to-day struggles, of course with him I was able to eat well every night and now it’s my daughter and myself, and it’s hard to know where the next meal is going to come from,” she said. “I lost my job not even a month ago and this economy is really, really tough. You know I’m not the only one and I don’t expect for anyone to feel sorry for me and have pity on me but I do think that the father of my child, given the fact that he is able to help his child out, should be willing to.”
As many in need would turn to reality TV as a source of income, Mathis said that Bosh didn’t want her getting involved with ‘Basketball Wives.’ “Well, I was offered a job on Basketball Wives and I filmed a couple episodes and I guess it leaked that I had landed this job and Chris of course did not want me to go on it so he sued me to keep me from going on it,” revealed Mathis. “I would’ve made a hell of a lot more money than I’m currently – well I’m not making any money but with other job offers that I had.”
