In a candid interview with Celebuzz, Serena Williams spilled about her decision to go on a man-cation.
“I have given up on dating,” the 30-year-old tennis superstar told the site. “It just hasn’t worked out well for me.”
Unsurprisingly, the culprits are rumored to be her ex-beaus Common and Drake. However, no word on who truly pulled Cupid’s arrow from the cocoa-skinned star’s heart. She only mentioned being an emotional person, unwillingly to suffer through another heartbreak.
“I’m a really emotional person. I give my all and everything. I do make mistakes — like every human does — but the last relationship just was too much of a heartbreak for me. I just can’t go through that anymore. It was hard.”
And for the next 10 years, she won’t.
“I just have to remove myself from that atmosphere for about the next decade or so,” she vows.
Although the sickness sparked by a heartbreak is unlike any other pang of love, is removing yourself from the dating arena the right thing to do? It seems that love is very much a trial-and-error act; you’ve got to try, try again. The funny thing is that when you’re swearing love off, it comes galloping into your life (white horse not included).
Vixens, tell us! Could you swear off dating?
