New Jersey Woman Allegedly Fired For Being Too Busty

A New Jersey woman is filing a lawsuit against her employer after she was allegedly fired for being too curvaceous.  She was told to “tape her breasts down” by her manager.

According to ABC News, Lauren Odes, a former data entry worker at Native Intimates, a midtown Manhattan linger company, said that her supervisor told store owner that he disapproved of her outfits, suggesting it was too “distracting.”

“When my supervisors suggested that I tape down my breasts, I asked ‘Are you kidding me?” the 29-year-old said. “The supervisor said, ‘Just cover up a little more.’”

In a press conference Monday, Odes said that she was told to look at what the employees were wearing when she asked what the dress code was. “So I did. The dress was very casual athletic wear to business attire.”

Odes said that the owners were Orthodox Jews and that the female supervisor ordered Odes to put on a long, bright red bathrobe decorated with pictures of guitars for which she was ridiculed by coworkers. “I sat in the bathroom for a while crying. I’d prefer to go out and buy a sweater rather than sit there in the bathrobe feeling humiliated,” Odes said.

While out shopping for an alternate sweater, Odes said she received a phone call that she had been terminated. Her attorney Gloria Allred has filed a lawsuit against Native Intimates with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
