Rep. Bobby Rush Asked To Leave House Floor For Wearing Hoodie [VIDEO]

Illinois Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush was asked to leave the House floor Wednesday morning for wearing a hoodie in memory of slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

Rush reportedly removed his suit jacket to reveal a gray hoodie and put the hood up while saying, “Racial profiling has to stop. Just because someone wears a hoodie does not make them a hoodlum.”

He also put on sunglasses.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Rush was asked to leave by House security staff after Rep. Gregg Harper (R., Miss.) said the hoodie violated the rule that prohibited wearing a hat on the House floor when it was in session.
