“I started to realize there was more inspiration than just our songs. I mean we’ve been happily married for over 10 years. Happily, not perfectly, but happily. We are moms of multiple children,” Tina said at the Q&A following the sneak peek. “We’re sisters, a group still in business when most of the groups that started off in 2000, they couldn’t do it because they can’t deal with each other. And we’re family, and we like each other even when we don’t like each other. That’s good for you to see.”
Tina and Erica also talked about gaining a new appreciation for reality stars because of the difficulty with living their lives on screen. They stressed however, that seeing the other side of their lives was important.
“What most of the world see of Christians is you doing your good Christian work, preaching, telling everybody how to solve everything. They don’t see you weak, they don’t see you broken, they see you helping and fixing and having all of the answers,” Erica said. “And it’s so important for people to see what your life looks like Monday to Friday, when you’re not in the pulpit, when you’re not being so inspirational.”
Mary Mary will also document the making of the duo’s new album Go Get It, slated to release in May. The show premieres tomorrow night at 10 p.m. on We tv, following Braxton Family Values. –Iyana Robertson
