While the U.S. government deployed American advisers to assist the Ugandan army in Kony’s capture, the interest begins to wane in Central Africa. The film aims calls on 20 tastemakers including Rihanna, Jay-Z, Marck Zuckerberg and Bono, along with 12 policymakers like John Kerry and Condoleeza Rice to bring the issues back to the forefront.
On April 20, all supporters can participate in making Kony’s name famous by covering their neighborhoods in Kony posters to put an end to the injustice. “The better world we want is coming,” Russell says. “It’s just waiting for us to stop at nothing.”
