Iggy Azalea was named the only female in XXL’s Freshman Class this year and she’s even signed by King of Atlanta, T.I. on his Grand Hustle label, so her credits are definitely there, but her lyrics are questionable. There’s a line from her song “D.R.U.G.S.” that she’s borrowed from Kendrick Lamar’s “Look Out For Detox” where he labels himself a “runway slave,” Iggy puts her mark on it by naming herself a “runaway slave master.”
…tire marks, tire marks. Finish line with the fire marks. When the relay starts, I’m a runaway slave….master. Sh-ttin’ on the past, gotta spit it like a pastor….
Iggy’s direct competition, new-to-the-game rapper Azealia Banks took to twitter to express her disdain in Iggy’s racist lyrics. She’s made her issue with the Aussie rapper known and has even had a few choice words for T.I. But Iggy and T.I. couldn’t care less about Azealia’s complaints because a while back Azealia tweetedthat she thought using the word “n*gger” was laughable and didn’t understand the impact of it. This is how Iggy responded via MissJia.com to the criticism of using, “runaway slave master.”
