Would You Wear Abercrombie & Fitch ‘Nigger Brown Pants?’

The theory that brands do things for recognition is proving to be true with every new collection that comes out. Whether it’s Forever 21 and their Navajo controversy or Nivea and their re-civilized ad, it never seems to end.

The latest brand to participate in something that will get people upset is Abercrombie & Fitch. The brand has a pair of brown pants on its website called “Nigger Brown Pants.” Take a moment and reflect for a second…

The fact that the clothing brand caters to a white audience raises the question of what exactly are the executives thinking of other ethnicities. The term “nigger” has been argued over for centuries and for it to show up on a website of this kind is degrading.

Abercrombie should expect to receive a lot of backlash from this in the coming days.

Would you purchase or even wear pants with this name? In this day and age, does it matter what the name of a product is, even if it’s degrading to a race?
