We love little Willow Smith because she’s bold, confident and the star child of Will and Jada. And while we appreciate her zany sense of style and her parent’s ability to let her express herself freely, we question her latest move: getting a drastic Amber Rose-esque buzz cut.
The 11-year-old “Whip My Hair” singer shared her new look with her Twitter (@OfficialWillow) fans who pretty much love it. The bold move is right up her alley, but honestly, at her prepubscent age, her parents should step in. Sure, it’s just a haircut, but do you remember the days when your mom would freak out over a simple self-trim? What happened to the days when kids weren’t allowed to make these major decisions? Not only is her haircut a bit too, well, grown. Her influence is kinda heavy. Will other kids follow suit?
Last summer, Jada emphasized that her parenting skills are just fine when it comes to her famous kids:
‘There are so many other kids you can worry about. My kids? They’re going to be all right. I get why people would criticize. But people need to know that Will and I would never put our children in a situation that would bring them detriment. If I survived everything that I survived in Baltimore and Will survived everything he survived in Philly, these kids surely can survive the Hollywood game.’
But can they? Willow is already mega famous from one Billboard smash, and although a positive pre-teen, she seems to making too many adult-like decisions with her wardrobe and now her hair. What’s next? We get it; celebrity kids don’t necessarily have the same rules as “normal” kids, but in this case, she may need some new principles.
What do you think, Vixens? Should her self-expression be restricted just a tad?
