Last evening in Los Angeles, the stars aligned to honor Grammy nominee Kelly Rowland and music industry vet Sylvia Rhone. ESSENCE magazine teamed up with luxury vehicle brand Lincoln to host a glitzy and glamourous event in support of Black Women in Music. Both ladies of the hour arrived in the 2012 Lincoln MKX to exclusive affair; Kelly stepped out in a gorgeous, sweeping orange gown.
Shawn Lollie, Lincoln manager of Multicultural Marketing says, “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the magazine in honoring these talented women, and participate in events like these that speak to the contemporary Lincoln consumer.”
Why did they select these two women for the sophisticated accolades?
“Kelly and Sylvia are two very influential women in the music industry and having Lincoln sponsor an event honoring them is a great fit as we expose the luxury brand to influential buyers,” says Lollie. “This is a great way for modern consumers, like African-American women, to engage with our vehicles in a fun, fresh and glamorous way.”
The night went off without a hitch. Guests included Ne-Yo, LA Reid, Michelle Williams, Letoya Luckett, Joyful Drake and more, as DJ MC Lyte manned the 1′s and 2′s for the night. There was also a special performance from the “Motivation” singer and Grammy Award-winner Eve.
