Solid read, Niki. I definitely agree; I was watching it and following your tweets that night also. You're absolutely right. I think in any relationship on both sides it needs to be established on what kind of relationship is going to take place.

I honestly felt bad for Melanie towards the end of the episode because she really did bite the bullet and have to play step mom. You could see the pain in her face!

I feel like Melanie and Derwin have a strong relationship even if Melanie's skeletons were falling out of her closet. They really are the model for the whole "for better or worse" marriage.

But like I said through anything, both parties should discuss what kind of relationship they're going to have...even if it is later down the road.

I was a true ride or die chick here is the short version: the kids (2 of them) dad and I broke up after learning he was cheating on me. I vowed this was the end and we would never get back together, I started dating another guy we were together maybe 7 months when I found out I was pregnant, aborted the baby because I knew eventually I would get back with the kids dad and he would never take me back knowing I had a baby by someone else even though we were not together. Eventually we get back together, so I totally been were Melanie"s been.

I believe it will balance itself out when people stop caring about what others think of them. Men are so worried about what other men will say and how they will be preceived by other males that they forget about what they know is right in their hearts. When everyone realizes that other people's opinions don't matter and begin to simply follow their heart, despite what others may think, only then will the double standard be erased. But then again, that may be when hell freezes over, also.

These double standards only exist because we perpetuate them, knowingly and unknowingly.
