After shedding her Baby Phat, Kimora Lee Simmons decided that her business ventures needed to grow up with her. The 36-year-old mommy of three recently announced plans to launch a new skincare line called Shinto Clinical that encompasses treatment elements of the East and West that were designed with the established woman in mind.
“I realized this whole generation of young people has grown up with me. We are no longer living in the clubs,” she said. “We have responsibilities, we have families, we have kids — I have two husbands, I always say I have an ex and a ‘next’ — I have three kids. I have a million jobs. So I wanted something that certainly addressed my particular needs in skin care.”
You’re never too young to prevent aging according to Kimora. The nine-piece line includes an antiage moisturizer, antiwrinkle serum, an eyelash enhancer, a pore minimizer, a microdermabrasion cream, and a skin lightening product. There is also an anti-age cleanser and toner, and an anti-cellulite cream that will be launched later in the year.
The target audience for Shinto is women aged 25 to 45, and the product line will make its debut Feb. 24 on QVC.
Kimora wrote on her blog that she’s excited to bring this brand to women of all ages and complexions everywhere. “It has been (and continues to be) a labor of love.”
