The CFDA Will Move New York Fashion Week But Refuses To Shorten It

Posted by on Dec 7, 2011

The Council of Fashion Designers of American has agreed with the proposal suggested by Milan to move New York Fashion Week back for a week in September 2012. NYFW will now run from September 6 to September 13 2012, the following year moving to start on the second Thursday in 2013 and 2014 as Milan suggested. But that’s all the CFDA will give Milan. They will not honor the request to shorten New York Fashion Week by cutting the last day– which Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren always show. If Italy accepts this is what 2013 would look like for the fashion world:

New York: September 13–19, 2013
London: September 20–24, 2013
Milan: September 25–October 1, 2013
Paris: October 1–9, 2013

Whew, that was a lot. Everybody caught up? Thoughts on the move?
