If the effect of insight is detrimental, then will black women now apologize for their participation in it against men? Why do almost all of these articles of "woe is black women's image" ignore that participation. It's reeks of dishonesty. That's a rhetorical question because with the general snarkiness and misandry of this article it's safe to say black women aren't apologetic at all at the media doing this to black men with their help for a long time. Black women were pretty much cheerleading such attacks on black men! I'd like to thank those black men of YT and especially the media for offering a little more balance into the equation. Is it possible that black women are starting to feel the brunt of their media attacks on black men over the years in the mainstream media? While my dating history has been mostly positive, I feel the most confident to tackle my dreams and goals while single. I think that we as black women having it more difficult than women of other races in dating to be a myth. I honestly don't feel that we are slated unfairly in comparison to our counterparts. For me, being single gives me the opportunity to be completely selfish and focus on myself. I don't have to worry about some else's opinions or feelings. And being only 23, I feel that I need to capitalize on this independence before I make any life changing decisions that cannot be revokes (such as starting a family and having children). I feel in order to me to truly be in a relationship, I need to know myself first. And what better why to do that than to follow my dreams and work on my personal goals? I am a “single black woman” and, contrary to numerous studies, I don’t feel like I am desolate.
