Last night marked the third annual WEEN Awards (Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network) located at the Samsung Experience shop in NYC’s Time Warner Building. The event, hosted by actress and media personality Alesha Renee, honored several illustrious female members of the entertainment industry for their philanthropic efforts in encouraging young women to strive for the stars without compromising themselves.
The event was attended by a host of big names like Melyssa Ford, Mona Scott-Young and Sylvia Rhone. Honorees included songstresses Estelle and Keri Hilson, Billboard Magazine Editor Danyel Smith, media personality Egypt Sherrod and Honey Shine Mentoring Program founder Tracy Mourning. Mourning nicely summed up the meaning behind the awards saying, “… Life is about serving and the legacy you leave.”
Tasty cocktails courtesy of Henessey were on hand complimented by hor d’ oeuvres. -Zoy Britton
