It’s very apparent in her new book and soon-to-come affordable fashion line. Read on as she also gives us a taste of what we can expect in Basketball Wives LA: The Reunion Part 1 and why she feels she’s #1 in this game. -Arlice Nichole
Will we see you for another season of Basketball Wives LA?
Right now, I think so. They haven’t announced it officially, but I definitely would welcome the opportunity to work with VH1 again. They were just a great group of people to work with and I really appreciate what they did as far telling our story with my mom.
What are your feelings on being labeled crazy and manipulative by some of the other ladies on the show?
I don’t take it personal. I look at the source, and if you’re not on my level, then there’s nothing that you can say about me as far as I’m concerned. What have you done? Who have you helped? Whose lives are you changing? Do you have a relationship? I don’t have to sit there and say I’m not crazy or I’m not this or I’m not that. I just let my actions speak. I’ve been married for 16 years, and I love my husband, I love my family, I have great friends—not on the reality show, but in real life—and I have an extremely strong support system.
On the reunion show, do you and any of the others resolve your problems and come to some understanding of each other?
No, I think that’s still a ball of confusion, and it’s a sad thing. But I don’t have any anger towards the girls. The reunion is going to be huge, and a lot of people are going to be surprised at some of the things that are going to be revealed on the show. They won’t let me really say too much about it, but it will be explosive. You know, I’m a person that’s very honest and upfront, and I tell it like it is. I’m not dishonest in any way, and sometimes the truth hurts, so that’s kind of where our friendships are right now.
Well, despite the relationship challenges with your cast mates, you’ve got love on lock! What’s your secret?
You know, I have to say that I love and respect Doug to the fullest. He’s been there with me, and he’s my best friend. Couples always ask us for tips on how to make it work, and I always tell them nothing in life is perfect, but if you keep communication, respect, intimacy, loyalty and all those things on the forefront, you guys will make it and you’ll be OK. But you have to talk and be able to share with each other how you feel. I can talk to Doug about anything, and he’s always listening. He is where I get a lot of my guidance from.
