Since news surrounding Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ divorce spread like wildfire quicker than a New York minute, Momager Kris Jenner felt the need to speak on her daughter’s impending divorce with Devi Dev and Sway on the Sway in the Morning Show.
While many of us were under the impression that Kim made $17 million dollars on her wedding, Kris made it very clear in her interview with Sway that Kim walked away with nothing by marrying Humphries. She maintained that the wedding was not a sham and revealed that Kim invested her own money into her extravagant nuptails, walking away with not one nickel.
Kris also expressed how unhappy she is with the media coverage surrounding her daughter’s divorce, calling claims that Kim was just chasing a check or that the wedding was fake, absurd. She thinks it’s tough when people, or haters as she calls them, feel like they have the right or license to say anything they want even though everyone here in America has freedom of speech.
Here’s an excerpt from her interview with Sway and Devi Dev:
Advice she’s given to Kim
“You have to, you know, follow your heart. You have to do what you feel like you need to do and we will totally respect whatever it is that you are going through and you need to do”
Advice she has for the “naysayers” and “haters”
“Get your facts straight people before you start judging. You know, worry about your own life before you start judging and making comments on something you know nothing about.”
While I do understand the point Kris is trying to make regarding people judging, she has to remember that living in the public eye has its advantages, like money, magazine covers, gifts, attention, and disadvantages, scrutiny. Judgment comes with the territory when you invite strangers into your life, especially with something as personal and complex as a relationship.
What do you think of Kris Jenner’s comments on the media’s treatment of Kim’s marriage and divorce?
