Who is the creative mind that comes up with the names?
Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, is the creative force behind every color created. There is a team of six employees from different departments at OPI, including Weiss-Fischmann, who go behind closed doors for 6-8 hours to brainstorm and decide upon new names for the lacquers.
What has been the highest selling OPI?
OPI’s bestselling nail lacquers include cult classics like I’m Not Really a Waitress, Lincoln Park After Dark, and You Don’t Know Jacques!
For the Fall, which top three OPI shades should women wear?
I recommend wearing deeper neutral hues like grey and khaki with a bold pop of red, coral or pink. Red, especially, as this color appearing as an accent shade in both fashion and décor. I recommend Color to Diner For from OPI’s Touring America collection for Fall/Winter 2011 when trying this trend. For the winter-hued neutrals, I suggest A-Taupe the Space Needle and French Quarter for Your Thoughts.
Which celebrity shades were the most successful?
OPI kicked off 2011 with partnerships with Katy Perry and Serena Williams, while Nicole by OPI brought Justin Bieber-inspired shades to fans. All of these celebrity collaborations have been very successful; the Bieber-inspired One Less Lonely Girl collection sold over one million bottles in just six weeks, while Katy’s promotion brought OPI to the forefront of the music and Hollywood scenes. Meanwhile, Serena’s desire to become a licensed nail technician brought her lacquers to millions of viewers on Oprah. Now, Nicole by OPI is about to launch a new collection with the Kardashian family, which has already generated a lot of buzz and excitement.
