With Louis Vuitton’s Double Exposure film project, Thandie Newton was able to personalize her shots and reveal a bit of her history. Shot by Tom Craig using a 19th century photographic process, the award-winning actress donned threads from the Vuitton autumn/winter 2011 collection and sat amongst her personal possessions–a teddy bear created by her eldest daughter, a painting from her childhood and her passport.
The For Colored Girls star says:
“The images really take you into the heart of history itself. To parallel that we’re getting into the history of me through the items I’ve chosen. One of the things about these photographs is the layers of meaning. Each picture is so unique so it just creates this desire to be my most essential self.”
The vintage-styled photos reek of old sophistication and class, making Newton quite the LV woman.
