After three seasons of watching the highs and lows of VH1’s Basketball Wives it’s hard to imagine that viewers could possibly still have room left in their foolishness tanks for another round. That was the case until VH1 announced – Basketball Wives: Los Angeles!
The show, which is scheduled to air Monday, August 29th, is shaping up to outdo its Miami counterpart with a drama filled cast and plenty of salacious scandal to keep viewers glued to the screen. Here are the top five reasons why we can’t wait for the premiere of Basketball Wives: Los Angeles.
5 – New Location.
For three seasons we’ve watched the original Basketball Wives crew traipse through the beaches of Miami and well, frankly, it’s boring. The city has been the backdrop for everything from Bad Girls Club to Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, so it’s way past time for reality television to find a new wing man and what better place than Los Angeles.
4 – Actual Wives.
Unlike the original, Basketball Wives: Los Angeles will actually feature….wait for it…actual wives! Kimsha Artest, Jackie Christie and Malaysia Pargo are all current wives which already give them a one up on the current crew who only had Jennifer as an actual wife for two seasons, and we saw what a mess that marriage was.
3 – Shaunie Calling Some of the Cast Trashy.
When the Executive Producer of the show calls the cast trashy, you know it’s an automatic must see! Shaunie O’Neal, who is Executive Producer for both shows, recently went on record as saying “…there’s a little bit of trash kind of sprinkled into that cast that I’m totally against. I was really very hands off with that cast.” Really? More trashy than the original? Count us in!
2 – The Govan Sisters.
With a delayed wedding, suspected domestic violence, possible jump off status and one hell of a baby daddy scandal between them, Gloria and Laura Govan honestly need their own VH1 reality show. Gloria and Laura were two of the most hated women on the first two seasons of Basketball Wives – and Laura wasn’t even a cast member! These sisters are clearly more than a handful, add that to all the other explosive personalities in the cast and you’ve got yourself the perfect storm for a drama filled season.
1 – Drama and Catfights.
Let’s face it, the only reason most of us bother to waste precious moments of our lives glued to the screen for an hour is because we are addicted to all the water throwing, hair pulling, name calling and foul language that is the Basketball Wives franchise. We live for it week after week and even though we know it’s all a hotmess.com, we can’t get enough. So who will it be this season, Jackie and Gloria? Kimisha and Malaysia? We have no clue, but trust we’ll be tuning in to find out.
