Although Amy Winehouse‘s fashion and style statements consisted mostly of beehives, tattered shorts ,bra-strapped t-shirts and heavy makeup, on her best days, the makeup remained, but she wore the most appropriate trends stemming from the fifties and sixties.
“I just dress like… I’m an old black man… Like I’m an old Jewish black man. I just dress like it’s still the ’50s,” she told Harpar’s Bazaar back in 2010.
The singer took her fashion aspirations to another level, landing the opportunity to work with Fred Perry on a 17-piece collection that debuted in October 2010, during the time she was rebuilding her mental and emotional health from drug and love abuse. The line included pencil skirts, minidresses, capri pants and argyle prints giving it a sophisticated, preppy spin; classic 50′s pieces that could be dressed up with Winehouse’s signature look–a head scarf tied into a bow–with a price tags ranging from $32 to $150.
Her last Fred Perry offering came in earlier this year. On March 7, the sporty chic Spring/Summer 2011 collection became available online.
