Think of the future if you can. You're going to live longer than your surgery. What's the matter? Can't anyone think beyond 35 years any more? I guess the suicide rate will skyrocket in about 5 years.

Anyone who knows anything about health and fitness, knows abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. I hate when well-meaning publications perpetuate the whole you can't be fit without a trainer and tons of money. Do some research.

I covered a similar topic a while ago and this is what I found out: Even though most women are aware of how artificial Hollywood beauties are, being daily bombarded by pictures of "modified" celebrities makes it acceptable, it becomes normal rather than being odd. We are voluntarily brainwashing ourselves. Lil Kim used to be a weirdo, now more bloggers praise her new look and act as if she were born this way.

Most celebrities look alike. They have the same kind of hair and the same kind of surgery done; skin bleaching, nose jobs and breasts implants... Since most of them have similar features they somehow have redefined beauty.

We shouldn't give them more attention because it can be devastating to compare and see how far from "perfection" we are. I used to feel a bit akward about these beauty standards but now I call that cheating. There is a lot of hypocrisy because most of those celebrities keep saying: "Be true to yourself. You are beautiful no matter what you look like" and yadayadayada.

I wonder if male celebrities are also pressured to go under the knife or if only women are expected to look like a replica of fake, a duplicate of barbies.

Contrary to popular belief, you can actually live a happy life and look good without weave, relaxer, make-up, or cosmetic surgery. If we could just accept how we look without these money-draining unecessary procedures, we would all be healthier and happier and more tolerant of the idea that it is ok to look like a normal woman!

If you love yourself and don't care what someone else thinks about your versatile, thick, afro hair you can embrace it and go with it rather than fighting it into submission with dangerous chemicals and expensive fake hair.
If you love and respect the genes passed on by your parents you can look at that broad, flat nose and honour what your parents gave you by preserving these feature and running away from the scalpel (after all your children are likely to have that nose too, so you can run from it with surgery, but you can't hide forever)!

These famous people are trying to subscribe to the ethnically ambiguous, homogenous look in order to appeal to a wider audience. If people don't like the way you look, there is something wrong with them, NOT YOU. Love yourself, stay away from women's magazines and surround yourself with positive images of women who look like you and are happy to look like you.
