Well written article.It does shed a light on the propaganda the music industry forces to feed the public.I wish Kelly the best and much success of course I would like to see her with a campaign ad if Beyonce,Rhianna,Solange can have and cosmetic ad so can Kelly,Tika Sumpter, and Ciara just to name a few.I wish the media embraced all shades of our beautiful race to showcase the brilliance of our skin and talent.

I really like this article. I had never thought about all the things that have been set up for Beyonce already even b4 she entered the game. It is shame that there is no real dark queen on the top of R&B the way Bey or Rihanna are.

It really is refreshing though to see Kelly not be jaded and continue to sing about positive experience with men and loving herself and situation instead of how the industry seems to make dark skinned women sing about pain and hurt.

I personally think Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson are more talented vocally, but look at how they had to make it: American Idol, a reality show. There is definitely a double standard that everyone tries to deny instead of naming it for what it is. I applaud the author for naming it. The more we say that America loves light skinned black women to be torch bearers of the entertainment business we’ll begin to see more Lauryn Hill’s and Rutina Wesley’s (the girl from true blood luvs her).

Kudos Vibe Vixen and Go Kelly and Bey! Luvs them both!!!

I could comment on how this article is totally all over Beyonce’s crotch but I’ll go the lighter route and say that Kelly is doing her thing and I wish her well.

It is always suspicious when Kelly Rowland have some material out, and Beyonce comes with some material. Both records sound good, but it’s always expected that Beyonce will always come on top. Now with that somewhat flop of Who Runs the World, and Kelly is at number one, it is refreshing to see another member of one most talented girl groups of time making it on her own.

Both women are very talented. I am sure they are both professional and neither would interfere with the others career. I think the media needs to stop turning every relationship with famous women into some sort of cat fight. Not everyone in the world operates that way.

I’m sorry but this article throws so much indirect shade at Kelly Rowland. Okay so what? Bey will not lose and neither will Kelly. They are both successful its not like Kelly is a peasant or something. In case people forgot, Beyonce is human just like the rest of us. Stop making her out to be the second coming of Jesus.

I’m completely over the ‘Beyonce did this and that’ bandwagon.Kelly is up against alot right now.The author is correct. I can’t name one dark skinned female singer.It’s just a parade of Leona Lewis,and Alicia Keyes out here.
But I think Kelly will do well.I’m going to support her.
