Before the current British invasion, there was Amy Winehouse- a critically acclaimed artist who came overseas to share her raw talents and distinctive voice with the United States. Ever since her debut album, fans quickly fell in love with her outrageous style, frank lyrics, compelling voice and eccentric stage presence.
When news broke that Winehouse, 27, had passed away, everyone was speculating if it was true. Since bursting on the scene, we have known this amazing singer battled many addictions in private and in public for a while. The “Rehab” singer had a longtime battle with drugs and substance abuse fueled mainly by a troubled romance with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
Aside from the negative media attention, Winehouse’s talent will forever speak to music lovers and generations to come. It was rumored that the international singer’s follow up to Back to Black was in the process of being completed later this year.
