Etta James, born Jamesetta Hawkins, is a powerful singer born and bred in the church. She belted out awesome gospel songs every since age 5 until she joined a group headed up by Johnny Otis. One of her most famous songs of all time is “At Last”. A few years ago Beyoncé had the honor of playing Etta in a biopic called Cadillac Records. Ms. James puts the soul in SOULFUL singing and was quite a fashionable lady during her career. Dear, Ms.Etta James, I would like to say is now you can rest in peace, you willn’t have to worry about no more gaining anymore pain and you willn’t have to cry no more. Etta you are in my prayers and you will always be in my soul. One of the first songs I remember is “Tell Momma” and I am listening to that song right now. GOD BLESS YOU ETTA!!!!
