Double Dose! The Sachika Twins Flourish In Feminine Style & Fashion

Born from the tale of a Vietnamese love story, indentical twin sisters To-Tam and To-Nya are the yin and yang of the designing theatre with their fashion line Sachika. Before they lived and breathed the essence of the brand, they were cut from a creatively entrepreneurial cloth that catapulted them to New York City, by way of Paris and Montreal, and afforded them the opportunity to show their 2011 Fall/Winter collection in the city’s famed Fashion Week 2011. The delicately feminine threads showcased growth from the ladies’ humble beginnings and a cutting edge direction that reflects their personal style in fashion and in method of fueling the machine.

“My sister is very organized and responsible, and I’m more of a people person. She’s more internal,” To-Tam chimes in, “I don’t have certain steps to what I do; I just know that I make it happen somehow my way.”

To-Nya agrees, “I am the creative person, the artist with the business personality, more strategic, and she’s the businesswoman with the artist personality.”

Having left their respective occupations, the two decided to join forces in 2009 to build a brand for the “modern woman” that accentuates the tender sides of every sophisticated female. Two years since it’s inception, Sachika is continuously gaining recognition by other designers and coveted by celebrities, such as Nicki Minaj, Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Adrienne Bailon, reality stars Jill Zarin and Patti Stanger and Ice T’s voluptuous wife, CoCo. Overflowing with lace, short skirts, mini-dresses, soft colors and hints of sparkle and shimmer, this line is fit for every on-to-the woman who needs a sophisticated, versatile and stylish presence from the boardroom to the night out with her lady entourage.

Where are they going from here? Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2012, appearances on Ice Loves CoCo, bi-coastal boutiques, accessories, a co-ed collection, their own reality show and a denim line.

“At heart, we love denim; I love jeans. Denim is alot more than just a casualty fabric, and I want to show that to the world,” To-Nya says, “Our main goal is to inspire people. Sachika is only a portion of what we want to do, a stepping stone for us to express ourselves. At the end of the day, what we really want to do is inspire people, to touch people.
